• Empathic Mimicry Trip's ability allows him to absorb the abilities of others simply by being in the presence of other mutants. Once he has absorbed an ability, he can replicate it and use that ability although unlike the original user he obviously has no experience with the newly mimicked ability. Unstable powers are a danger to him. If he comes into contact with a mutant who has such a power, he will likely absorb the ability involuntarily and be unable to control it. Additionally, Trip's power has a great possibility of overloading if he absorbs too many powers, causing him to pass out, fall into a coma, and worse.
  
  
  • Ability Absorption: This part of his ability isn't exactly controllable. Whenever Trip is in the presence of another mutant, he absorbs their ability whether he wants to or not. Whether he knows about it or not. The limitation being that he needs to be within ten feet of the person in order to actually absorb their ability. And if the ability absorbed is one that requires active concentration to use, then he isn't aware that he has absorbed it and that he can use it unless he knows about the ability.
    
  • Ability Retention: The abilities that he has absorbed are difficult to manifest and control. He doesn't automatically know how to control any such ability because they weren't originally his, leading to the big problem of absorbing an unstable power. If Trip retains too many abilities, overloading is possible. His mimic ability is connected to emotion so he only manifests an ability when he is around the person who he has absorbed it from. If that person walks out of his line of sight, he will lose the ability to use their ability within a matter of minutes.
