It was strange to be in such a new place. The United states, the home of the Americans, her new home. Already she had to do so much to get used to such a place. Adjusting to their culture was hard enough, and already she wished her brother was here to help her. So many people just stared at her, eying her style of dress. While she hadn't thought much of it, she did seem to stand out in her uniform. But did it really matter that much? Perhaps she should have considered changing before going out.
In the end,Asami was nervous about more than just her dress code. Already she had begun to make mistakes, like the fact that she had accidentally learned English overnight by listening to her computer program. The information had been so easy to absorb through her powers, it was almost creepy. The very thing surprised her parents the most, though they passed it off as simply her taking in the culture.
She had made a promise to her brother that she wouldn't draw attention to herself, that she would be normal. Yet, already she was breaking it. She could feel the tears run down her face as she stood by a window, hands up to her eyes as she tried her best to stop them. She didn't need anymore people looking at her.

Well, this wasn't something Dana expected to see today; a small green-haired girl with standing by a window, face buried in her hands. It was rather clear that she was probably sobbing into them, and the people staring at her like a weirdo was definitely not helping her case; Dana couldn't really blame them, though -she looked like something straight out of a high school anime. Hell, it was hard to tear her own eyes off the girl.
Still, it was pretty rude of them to blatantly stare at her like that. She'd have to do something about that. "What the heck're you all staring at?!" the blonde shouted at the passersby, walking in front of the crying girl to shield her from the judgmental gazes. "Don't you have somewhere to go?" Turning to the girl, Dana leaned down and asked, "Are you okay? What's wrong? Are you new here?"

Asami quickly looked behind her, seeing the blonde female take the attention off of her. She hadn't expected anyone to defend her. In fact, she was certain that they would just keep looking at her and make their remarks of her. But this wasn't very much expected, coming from a stranger. As the female leaned down to look her over, Asami nodded quickly in response, rubbing her eyes with the sleeve of her blouse. At least the people had stopped looking for now, maybe she wouldn't get in too much trouble after all.
"Ye..ye..yes....I just moved here only a few days ago...."
Looking down, she avoided the girl's gaze as she didn't want to draw too much attention towards her eyes. It wasn't a uncommon mutation to have green eyes, but it was still something that stood out. Standing out was bad. Better to remain unnoticed and isolated. She was safer that way, or so her brother always told her. No one would think less of her for it, just that she was shy. But then again, that wasn't too far from the truth.
"Thank...you for stopping them....I...I don't like being stared at..."
