While there is a four year difference between then, she tends to look towards him for support and protection. Their parents, Fuji and Karin Hamada, are just about what you'd expect from a middle class family. While Fuji works within the industrial district in Chiba as a factory worker, Karin spends her time as a house keeper and caretaker of their family. An average family, at least three out of four are. Around the time that Asami turned 12, the young girl began hearing noises in the sounds of calculations and equations. Each one differed from the next, but they all had a meaning to them and only she could hear them. This scared her half to death, causing her to tell her parents and having them take her to the hospital for a check up. Upon arrival, their doctor had no idea what was wrong with her, believing that Asami was simply hearing things and that it was a case of over imagination. But still, the noises continued , up in till the point that Asami could barely get any sleep. One night, while attempting to find slumber, the girl heard a robotic tone speak towards her. It kept speaking of user errors and caused her to rise from her bed to try and find its location. Upon looking through her room, she learned that it was coming from her very own computer, a system that had been glitching for the past two months. Listening to it's problems, the girl began to quickly follow it's instructions, taking it apparent and then rebuilding it. From there, it began working and it's voice was silent. At that point, Asami was very concerned. After all, machines couldn't talk to people, yet she had been able to speak and understand just what it was saying. The strangeness only continued as a week later, while walking with Kusu home from school, the two encountered a man within the alley. As Asami went over to help him, he quickly grabbed her and pointed a gun to her head. As Kusu tried to talk him into letting her go, Asami began to panic and cry as she could feel the cold steel against the side of her face. Yet, as he seemed to be ready to get away, moving along the sidewalk as passers by watched in terror, Asami's gaze rested upon a car, causing it to quickly move and perfectly collide into the man, knocking her to the side and crushing him against the side of a building. While many were unsure as to what had happened, Asami and Kusu were just as disturbed by it, but more relieved that she was safe. Of course, this caused Asami to confess what had happened over the best few days to her brother, telling him of her abilities. This was mostly due to her fear that she may have very well been the cause of this man's death,despite his attempt to harm her. In the end, Kusu suggested that they simply keep it quiet, and that Asami just try and ignore her strange abilities and hide it from their parents. It remained that way for the next two years, Asami would do her best o control her gift, while Kusu would cover for her when she slipped. But, with Kusu going to college, Asami feared for the worse. It was made even more dramatic when her father was to be transferred to a work station within the United States. It would be there that she would start High School at North Salem High.
